SPEECHMOTION offers a platform for
new performers and film makers to promote their work. The live
performance can be anything from poetry to storytelling.
Featured performers will be offered a performance slot of up to
20 minutes. Featured film makers can submit shorts on any
subject, fiction or documentary, with a maximum screening time
of 20 minutes. A small fee for expenses is offered to each
featured performer and filmmaker. |

SpeechMotion,
the latest addition to the msft festival portfolio is
another fantastic event taking place in East London.
SpeechMotion aims to promote the work of originalstorymakers, by
offering a unique mix of performance and film every last
Tuesday of the month until June 2010. This year’s sponsor
venue is, The Horse and Groom, 28 Curtain Road, Shoreditch,
London, EC2A 3NZ.
SpeechMotion opperates
as an open platform for performers and filmmakers, as well
as programing Guest and Feature artisits, to keep raising
the bar. The main acts for the 25thAugust 2009
are, Resident & Published Poet, Super Pennie,www.myspace.com/superpennie. SpeechMotions
Guest Performer is, Xperi Mental, who
creates, psychedelic visual theatre with UV light, a mixture
of dance, Tai chi chuan, and juggling with poi and small
sticks.

Feature Poet is
Northerner, The Ruby Kid, who is a lyrical wordsmith
with an impressive performance history for someone so young.
The Ruby Kid has performed in front of over 500 people at
Sheffield's The Plug, (in support of grime megastars Wiley
and Skepta) to intimate spoken-word sets at The Library
House squat in Brixton. He has shared bills with Al Baker,
Babar Luck, Master Shortie, Kid Acne and Rodney P, to name a
few and will be performing tracks from his latest EP,
"Winter in The City."
Guest
Filmmaker is recent graduate from Southampton
Solent University, George
Hollywood-Smith, with two of his Short entitled, ‘RET.
RI. BU. TION’ and ‘Immigration’, which has had over
95.000 views on YouTube and has become an internet cult
classic.
Feature Filmmaker is Sullivan
Coredo from the South of France, with the debut screening
of, ‘The wizard/Le magician’ a Short surreal film about a
nightmare full of meanings but unreadable. Sullivan Coredo
will be present on the night for a Q&A to help those without
a dream dictionary interpret the meaning of ‘The Wizard/Le
Magician’.

Submissions
from performers should be sent to
speechmotion@makingtheatrework.com, to include a performer CV and a
short proposal, plus examples of work, poetry or other text
based material, and/or a link to a live performance.
Submissions
from filmmakers should be sent in DVD
format along with a CV and previous credits to SPEECHMOTION,
12 Ivy Gardens, London N8 9JE .
Submission must be received by
the 15th of each month to be considered for that
month’s SPEECHMOTION evening.
SPEECHMOTION will also be
running an open mic and screen for performers and filmmakers
prior to the featured acts. Registration begins at 7pm, for
a 7.30pm start. Just show up on the night at The Horse and
Groom with your material, or email
speechmotion@makingtheatrework.com to reserve a slot. Performers get
a 5 minute slot and film makers 10 minutes of screening
time.

promoters
MSFT, formerly known as
missfit productions, has been producing events since 2006
and specialises in raising the profile of emerging artists,
across the creative spectrum, (poets, performers, film
makers and playwrights). MSFT aims to create performance
opportunities around London in quirky venues that promise to
nurture creative talent and artistic innovation. MSFT often
calls on previous participants to resubmit for future
projects and believes in creating long term creative
partnerships, through extended development projects. If
