Artwist

Artwist currently lives England. He was born in St Petersburg, Russia; the place of 250 rainy days a year, where he learned to 'appreciate whatever flavour the rain brings to our lives'.

He was educated in Toronto, Canada where his second book of poetry 'I Taste The Rain' was published in 2003 by Captain Eagle.

He writes his poetry both in English & Russian.

'Poetically Speaking' by Artwist:

At first, poetry was beautiful and the people enjoyed its magic.

Then, poetry was beautiful and sincere. The people related to it. Then, poetry was sincere and smart. The people respected it.

Then still, poetry was contrived Soul Vomit. The people turned away from the poetry and mopped it away.

Now come I, into the empty halls of the abandoned poetic libraries.

I am here to wipe the dust off the beautiful words that make us feel good

Before they mean anything at all.

I want to craft my supernatural from the sheer beauty

and the critics can eat their flies.
