ED TUDOR POLE
Edward is a
descendant of Henry VIII. He was there at the dawn of the punk
scene, writing songs and strutting the boards with anybody who
was anybody, 'Who Killed Bambi?' being his first hit, from the
film 'The Great Rock'n Roll Swindle' in which he played
'Tadpole' opposite Irene Handle.
During the 80s his
band Tenpole Tudor signed to the legendary Stiff label and
released two albums, the first of which 'Eddie, Old Bob, Dick
and Gary' spawned the classic 'Swords of a thousand men' which
shall go down in history as one of the best songs of its era.
Ed took over from
Richard O'Brien as the front man for the later series of Channel
4's 'The Crystal Maze' and has acted prolificaly on stage and
in film, appearing alongside Rex Harrison in 'The Admirable
Chrichton', with Bowie in 'Absolute Beginners'; in 'Harry Potter
and the Chamber of Secrets'; 'Quills' with Geoffrey Rush, and as
Spike Milligan in 'The Life and Death of Peter Sellars', among
many others.
He has a new album
released in 2010 which is in the shops now. He is currently on
near permanent tour and will be performing for RRRANTS at The
Poetry Cafe, Covent Garden on the 21st of July!
