Solia

My Full Name is Solveiga Levanaite but all my friends , family and my audience know me as Solia. I born in Lithuania in a small town called  Visaginas in 1989 cold December morning. My home town is well known because of  beautiful nature and friendly talented people that are living there.  Sometimes people call us atomic children because our town is very different with its own rules and mentality. I am really happy that I born in such a beautiful place surrounded by lakes, rivers , green lands and huge forests.  I feel like I am a part of all this beauty and my soul always wanders somewhere in the woods.

I started to sing from my very childhood, I was always standing out from all guys in the school pop choir, church choir or music school vocal ensemble.  I was singing so loud and different from everyone, that my teacher said I have to practice vocal alone as a soloist.  In 1998 when I was almost  8 years old  I started studies in music school , my specialization was vocal .

Music school in my home town is quiet popular in my country. Almost all my friends were learning there such a big amount of musicians we have.  I can be really proud of my vocal teacher that  because she built my confidence and foundation for my future musicians career.  After  four years studies in music school I realized that this is not suitable way for me to relate my life with music,  I wanted to be free from rules and create music. I changed my way to Children’s creativity school .

There I found the family of musicians, music studio “Asorti”( awesome singer ,piano player and mother Jelena , guitar virtuoso Edgar and always positive Friend and dad Edvard).  With them  my real trip as an artist started. Never before I have seen so much instruments in one place and haven’t felt so many freedom and inspiration as I felt in their small studio. I was free to choose any songs that my heart desired or any instrument that I wanted to learn how to play.  These people were teaching me how to learn to be good musician without any kind of rules cause they don’t believe in rules they were saying  that first off all you have to feel music and after learn how to properly express it.

 With music studio “Asorti” I started to sing  in different festivals, concerts and competitions in all over the country, my favorite part of it was singing with the country rock band in our town biggest event “Visaginas Country festival”.  Also I found myself as a composer I started to learn how to play guitar and as  experienced writer  I started to create lyrics and music.  After some time I started recording my own songs and present them for the public.

My desire is jazz, soul, rhythm and blues. But I am always opened for  experiments with different styles.  That is why I collaborate with house , trance or drum and base music representatives here in London and in Lithuania. Together we already released few singles that is well known in Lithuania.

I am glad to continue my music movement here in London, meet new creative people and share my music with everyone who appreciates it.
