Danced Through Life

When I was younger,

There was more hunger,

For life!

Now I am older,

Burdens on my shoulder,

They lied!

Shoulda danced through life.

When I was Infant,

Life seemed more innocent,

And kind!

Now I’ve grown up,

Who gives a f***

That’s life!

Shoulda danced through life.

When I was eigh-teen,

I had a dream,

Bright eyes!

Then I grew tall,

Work, work is all,

Be wise!

Shoulda danced through life.

When I was now,

Had one final bow,

Then died!

Move let me slide,

Bo Jangles style

I’m alive!

  I danced through life.

Caribbean Bwoy

Caribbean bwoy; whapan fe yu?

Why uno lip so long?

dem tek de rhythm from yu step,

Steal de music from yu song.

Caribbean bwoy; whapan fe yu?

Why ya eye wide so?

De calypso missing from yu ways,

Sold down river long ago.

Caribbean bwoy; whapan fe yu?

Why ya knees so dry?

Rubbing shoulders wid dem folk

Now you trade yu cream for wine.

Caribbean bwoy; Aye, aye!

Damn stupid eeh?

Hurricane done mash up yu mind

Standing underneath coconut tree

Caribbean bwoy; me say, so what!

If you lip dem long, eyes wide so,

Knees dem dry, and you stupid eeh –

Yu is free!
